has sandy's track changed? >> about the same as last night. when you went to sleep, we were talking about the worst being tonight into tomorrow morning. landfall in southern new jersey, northern part of the delmarva perhaps. very little has changed. we do have some rain. it's moving in. east is getting it first. this is a very unusual storm for a lot of reasons. one it's so big. two, it's hitting late in october. three, when we get hurricanes up here, they normally go north and parallel the coast. they don't slam into the mid- atlantic coast. of course there's heavy snow in the mountains. blizzards warnings up about 2500 feet from garrett county all the way down. winter storm warnings in the north carolina mountains. this is quite a storm. going to start you off with your day planner. as you can imagine we're looking at rain an wind and increasing rain and increasing wind. by this afternoon we could have gusts 40 to 50 miles an hour. i know things are pretty calm right now but just off shore of rehoboth about 15 miles, we've got winds gusting

we is have another day to prepare for sandy. it won't be as nice tomorrow as today, but you'll be able to clean your gutters out, check your down spouts and that sort of thing. so here's the storm. it does not look particularly impressive, but again, we can't really get hung up on that either, because ironically the storm will intensify and become in some ways a stronger storm after it becomes extra tropical. here's the track. sunday, 8:00, we're looking at a category 1 way out to sea, seem east of hatteras. that's not so bad. it's the left turn that's the problem and it is still forecast to make a turn. it's a little further north now, which is good in southern new jersey and extreme northern delaware. we get into monday, 8:00 hour. then it rolls right in through southeastern p.a. i'm not sure it's going to accelerate into new york state. it may hang in south central pennsylvania. we know the wind fields are so big we are still looking at a hit. maybe not a direct hit, but i tell you what, the storm is so big, it's just a quest

still dealing with the remnants of sandy spinning over pennsylvania. for us it means light showers and unseasonably cool weather. in the mountains there's still snow falling. even into areas of southwestern pa, we have snow falling there. the mountains are still getting pounded. they could get another six inches or more in the higher elevations. locally we're looking at some showers into frederick county coming out of western maryland. more stuff, though, as you get back toward hagerstown in toward martinsburg there, berkley springs. to our south and west, there are a couple of sprinkles in fairfax county that are coming out of prince william and fauquier. we're going to watch those sprinkles and light showers for a few more hours. the temps this morning in the upper 30s to low 40s. it's 43 in dng. 39 in -- in d.c. 39 in gaithersburg, 41 in manassas with windchills in the mid-30s. our day planner, we'll have sprinkles around this morning. by midday mostly cloudy and not a lot of sun today. expect high temperatures near 55 and a 5:00 p.m. temperature 53
